Using Inman Aligner to Correct Minor Orthodontic Issues

How our Burton and Ashby patients can benefit from this fast acting teeth straightening treatment.

It has been said that having straight and white teeth is the new definer of a person’s social status. Whether this is factually correct or not though, there can be little debate that a set of teeth that are even and white certainly look much nicer than those that are crooked and yellow.

If we have badly discoloured teeth, there is a simple solution in the form of the teeth whitening procedure which we offer at Alexandra Dental Care. For those who teeth are very badly stained or perhaps cracked and chipped, dental veneers may offer a better and more effective solution.

The tooth whitening procedure only takes an hour and is therefore a ‘quick fix’ which can resolve the problem of discoloured teeth. For those with crooked or uneven teeth though, unfortunately, there is no ‘fix’ as fast acting as this!

Dental Braces

When we talk about the use of orthodontics to straighten teeth with our Burton and Ashby patients, the expression on their face indicates that they probably relate this to the old style dental braces which are metallic and highly visible; to say nothing of uncomfortable. Thankfully though, the world of orthodontics has moved on since then and there are now a wide range of adult braces that are available which not only correct the teeth but are comfortable, convenient and, most of all, discreet.

Many of these new orthodontics such as Invisalign, have changed people’s lives for the better and allowed them to have their teeth straightened without a major impact on their social life. Most of these though do take time to work and, whilst efficient, are ideally suited to those who have a more significant problem. But, what about those patients whose crooked teeth issues are relatively minor, if still annoying and detrimental to their appearance?

The Inman Aligner

For people with minor issues with crooked teeth, there is now a solution in the Inman Aligner. This is designed especially for this purpose and is a highly efficient and fast working solution to the problem. The Inman Aligner uses springs and alignment bows that work to put pressure upon the teeth and reposition them in what may prove to be only a matter of weeks.

With the bows being situated both at the front and the rear of the teeth, a dual action is applied which speeds the process up even further. It is also able to be removed occasionally when the need arises although it should be noted that removal will slow down the corrective process time.

The Procedure

With any orthodontic issue, a consultation at Alexandra Dental Care will be necessary to determine which orthodontic solution will work best for your own situation. In cases where it is decided that the Inman Aligner is suitable, we will then take impressions along with scans to enable us to customise the aligner to you. Once the aligner has been produced, our dentists at our Burton and Ashby dental clinic will fit the aligner and be able to answer any questions that you may have about it.

The aligner should be worn, ideally for between 16 and 20 hours each day and we will also request that you pay us a visit every few weeks to ensure that it is working correctly and make any adjustments that may be needed to ensure a successful outcome. Provided that the aligner is worn for the recommended periods of time and that you keep the required appointments, depending on your own case, you should find that within a few months, your once crooked teeth will be straightened to your satisfaction.
