Planning Your Smile For Spring 2017

Some cosmetic dental procedures take time to work. Why not plan ahead for your new smile?

As you read this blog post, you may be looking out of your window at a grey sky that threatens rain and winter looms ahead. But before we know it, it will be spring again and we start to feel the first warmth of the sun and the new shoots of nature start to come through.

It is around this time of year that we often feel the need to renew ourselves and the term ‘spring clean’ hasn’t come about for no reason at all. Many of us will throw out our winter clothes, replacing them with brighter colours for the months ahead. Personal improvement is often on the agenda at this time too, with gyms becoming busier as people tone themselves for the period ahead.

What does this have to do with cosmetic dentistry you might ask? Well, at Alexandra Dental Care, we like to help our Burton patients plan ahead with their treatments, knowing, as we do, that not all cosmetic dental procedures are as fast acting as others. So whilst you can expect very rapid results from a teeth whitening procedure for example; straightening crooked teeth will take a while longer.

Straight teeth

One procedure which is noted for the length of time it takes to see results is teeth straightening. Although this can be frustrating for patients, it is logical that you can’t simply force teeth into a new position too quickly or you would risk breakage or damage to the teeth or the bone in which they are held. Whilst some orthodontic systems can take over a year to work, there are newer and less visible orthodontics which take much less time. The most popular of these is the Six Months Smile, of which we are a recognised provider.

Unlike some other systems, this method focusses on straightening the visible six top and bottom teeth only. By doing so, the time taken to give you a great smile can be considerably reduced. The good news is that if your teeth are not too badly crooked and uneven, this system can work in as little as three months. We will be able to advise you of how long it should take for the results to be seen when you come for your consultation at Alexandra Dental Care.

So, if you are unhappy with your teeth and would like them to be even and straight, why not arrange an initial consultation with one of our cosmetic dentists near Burton? We will discuss the procedure with you and set you on the road for having a great new smile for next spring. Please arrange your consultation today by calling our friendly reception team on 01283 216347.
