A Quicker Way To Correctly Align Your Smile In Burton

Not all orthodontics (braces) have to be worn for a long period of time!

If you have visible front teeth that are crooked, and which show when you smile, you may have considered wearing dental braces but been put off the idea, due to the length of time that they can take to work. Many orthodontic systems may take over a year before they have successfully straightened your teeth and for some people, this is much too long.

Generally,  braces that take longer time to work are the ones that are designed to straighten all of your teeth, including the more difficult to reposition rear teeth. Whilst there are good arguments for having this done; for many, the main aim is to only straighten the teeth that people see when they smile.

Cosmetic dental braces

In order to straighten the front teeth, orthodontic system known as ‘cosmetic braces’ can be used. These can act much faster than conventional braces as they only have to reposition the single rooted teeth towards the front of the mouth. It should be noted that these braces may not be appropriate in cases of severe misalignment.

One of the most popular cosmetic braces that we use at Alexandra Dental Care is the Inman Aligner.

Removable braces

The Inman Aligner is an excellent orthodontic system that can be used to correct minor crookedness of the visible front teeth. It uses opposing springs and bows to exert a gentle pressure on the teeth, encouraging them back to their correct position. This simple method allows teeth to be straightened in between six and eighteen weeks, depending on how misaligned your teeth are.

Another benefit of the Inman Aligner is that is is actually a removable dental brace, which allows you to remove it when, for example, going out for a meal.  You should take care though to minimise the amount of time that it is removed as the more time it spends away from your teeth, the longer the overall treatment time it will take to complete.

Crooked teeth do not have to be permanently that way, and our cosmetic dentists are always happy to help our Burton and Ashby dental patients to achieve an even smile.

Your consultation

Before any treatment is decided, it will be necessary to carry out an initial consultation, where we will examine your teeth and gums to see if any precursory work needs to be carried out prior to your teeth straightening treatment. We will discuss with you, the options available and make recommendations as to the best orthodontics to use in your specific case.
