Implant, Cosmetic and General Dentist - George Savva, covering Ashby, Burton and Swadlincote
George Savva graduated from the Royal London Hospital in December 1990. He completed his postgraduate Vocational Training Year from 1991-1992 in Derby and has spent all his working life as a General Dental Practitioner in Derbyshire, firstly as an Associate and then as a Principal at Alexandra Dental Care since 1996.
George has worked as a Clinical Assistant in Maxillofacial Surgery at Derby's Royal Infirmary. George has also been a Vocational Trainer for Sheffield University since 1999.
His special interests are Implant dentistry and Cosmetic dentistry encompassing aspects such as crown and bridgework, veneers, tooth whitening.
In 2008 George completed the 2 year Advanced Certificate in Implant Care at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield enabling George to provide both the surgical and restorative phases of implant care at the practice.
George has undertaken more postgraduate implant training (2010-2012) completing all the units for the Diploma/Masters course based at Leeds University organised by the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (RCS) London.
In December 2012 took the final exams for full Diploma accreditation and was successful in being awarded the Diploma in Implantology : DipImpDent RCS(Eng). This is considered the ‘Gold ‘standard by the General Dental Council.
George has also been a Vocational Trainer for Sheffield University since 1999.
In his role as Vocational Trainer and as part of his commitment to postgraduate education George completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education (PG Cert Clin Ed) at Sheffield Hallam University in 2010.
He is a member of the British Dental Association and has held several committee positions in the past. He is also Associate member of the Faculty of General dental Practitioners and a member of the Association of Dental Implantology. He is also on the European Consultant Panel for 3M testing various new innovative materials.
George is married with four children. He is a keen Derby County fan and is a regular at Pride Park with his sons. He keeps fit by regular visits to the gym and walking his two dogs.
